Market access Germany for producers

Germany is the largest medical cannabis market in Europe and also the most formal one. Producers who want to be listed here rarely fail on the product, but on the chain behind it.

What a market entry actually requires

Before the first delivery to a German pharmacy you need: a wholesale partner with the required licences, pharmacy product numbers (PZN) for each pack size, German-language product documentation, certificates of analysis in a usable form and a price structure that works in the German market.

Each of these points can be solved on its own. What costs time is the sequence and the coordination between producer, wholesaler and sales.

Listing is not selling

A listing means that a pharmacy or a pharmacy group can order the product. Whether it is ordered is decided afterwards: by availability, by the quality of the documentation, by demand from prescribing practices and by whether someone is reachable when a question comes up.

Products that are listed but not looked after drop out of the range again after two to three quarters.

What PhyPharm takes on

PhyPharm works as a sales agency for producers in the German market: setting up and managing the wholesale connection, preparing the documentation, approaching and listing pharmacies and pharmacy groups, shaping terms and conditions, ongoing support and feedback from the market.

The experience comes from European market-entry projects and from 20 years of purchasing and sales in retail. The perspective is therefore that of the buyer on the other side of the table.

How a collaboration starts

It starts with a sober assessment: portfolio, potency ranges, available volumes, certificate status and price expectations. This shows whether a market entry makes sense, and in which segment.

If it does not, that is the more honest answer than a project that quietly runs out after two quarters.
